John E. Jack Muldoon, age 78, of Lancaster, died on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home from a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 4, 1935, in Milwaukee, the son of Leo and Vera (Vesperman) Muldoon. Jack graduated from Lancaster High School in 1953. He was a farmer all his life in South Lancaster Township. Jack took over the family farm after his father passed away in 1974 and remained on the family farm until his passing. He enjoyed riding around the farm on his Polaris with his dog, Misty. Jack also loved gardening and was always interested in anything to do with farming. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Green Bay Packers, Chicago White Sox and the Milwaukee Brewers. In his younger days, he played league softball and coached softball for many years. Jack loved to socialize and meet his friends at A&W for coffee. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his two sisters: Beverly (Floyd) Ihm, Lancaster; Mary (William) Leibfried, Hazel Green; Mark (Diane) Muldoon, Lancaster; many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father John Sasse officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Lancaster. Friends also called on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is serving the family.
