John H. Jack Larson, age 91, of Lancaster, died on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. He was born on January 3, 1921, in Chippewa Falls, the son of Ole G. and Muriel Mae (Forrester) Larson. John graduated from Chippewa Falls High School and entered the United States Navy. He served his country from 1939 until 1945. On July 7, 1950, John was united in marriage to Joyce Flug in LaCrosse. He sold insurance for Employee Mutual of Wausau for twenty-seven years. John was a member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing golf and walking. He was also an avid Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badger fan.
Survivors include his three children: Connie (Loren) Nix, Lancaster; Jane (Rick Parrish) Morehouse, Bettendorf, IA; John (Sabina Koziel) Larson, Seattle, WA: four grandchildren: Stephanie Ann Butcher, Joshua (Mandie) Morehouse, Abbey (Steve) Peterson, and Jenna (Dustin Caras) Morehouse; two great-grandchildren: Declan and Lucan Peterson; a sister, Betty Jackson, California; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce on January 26, 2003; and a brother, Emery Larson.
Private family services will be at a later date. Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster is assisting the family.
