John H. Flesch, age 62, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at his home in Lancaster. He was born on July 3, 1948, in Lancaster, the son of Joseph and Gladys (Hardy) Flesch. John attended St. Clement Catholic School and graduated from Lancaster High School. He furthered his education at University of Wisconsin at Platteville, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science. John served his country in the United States Navy for six years, stationed out of Norfolk, VA. He loved playing cards at Zippy
s, crossword puzzles and cryptograms. John had been employed at Wal-Mart in Platteville for many years.
Survivors include his sisters: Mary Raup, Madison; Marjorie (Jay) Herning, Alva, OK; JoAnn Flesch, Madison; nieces and nephews: Cecilia (Stephen) Fishnick; Brad (Kate), Brittney and Stephanie (Wesley Stanek); Nancy (George Forbes) Flesch; Mary T. (Morgan Cronson) Raup; John P. Raup; Heather (John) Budewitz; Sarah (Ken) Kramer; Lisa (Danny Zarella) Herning; George Herning; his aunts: Mildred Kelly, Dubuque, IA; Dorothy Martin Lancaster; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, James

Flesch, brother-in-law, John A. Raup, and numerous cousins.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial with military honors was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
