POTOSI - John J. “Jumpin’ Johnny” Fecht, age 83, of Potosi passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. He was born August 30, 1941, the son of Leo and Esther (Morshead) Fecht. John attended St. Andrews Catholic School. From an early age, John farmed with his family. He was employed at Dubuque Pack, which later became FDL and Farmland, where he made many lifelong friends. On December 10, 1960, he was united in marriage to Carol A. Peacock at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Potosi, Wisconsin. Together they farmed on Brouillard Hill Road in rural Potosi. Johnny retired from Farmland in 2000 but continued to farm and cut wood seven days a week with his side kicks, Clete Russell and Mert Kruser.
