BLOOMINGTON, WI – John A. Rusch, age 75, of Bloomington formerly of Manitowoc, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on June 26, 1946, the son of Ewald and Eunice (Erickson) Rusch. John graduated from Green Bay West High in 1964. He attended Stout State University and graduated with a degree in Industrial Arts Education. On August 24, 1968, he was united in marriage to Kathleen M. Lamine. John taught in Saint Claire Shores, Michigan, and later taught Tech Education at Manitowoc Public Schools for over 33 years. John was also employed as a ground's keeper at Branch River Country Club in Manitowoc. He was a member and Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc as well as a member of the Lancaster First Presbyterian Church. John also was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, serving in Two Rivers and Prairie du Chien. John enjoyed boating, camping, woodworking, and photography.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Kathleen; a son, Nathan Rusch; a daughter, Rebekah (Brandon) Vogelsberg; two grandchildren: Reid and Molly Vogelsberg; a brother, Tom (Karen) Rusch; members of the Lamine family; his cat, Flipper.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Homes & Crematory in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
