Joann A. Glass, age 72, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Lancaster. She was born September 14, 1944, in LaCrosse, the daughter of Robert and Berneal (Jambois) Glass. In 1952, the Glass family moved to Cassville. Joann was employed at the former Paddle Wheel in Cassville, now known as J&J's Sandbar, as a dishwasher. She was also employed at Rapid Dye & Molding. Joann returned to the Sandbar as a dishwasher when Ron and Crick Infield were the proprietors. She dearly enjoyed the Infield's because they treated her "like gold." Joann babysat for her family members and worked playground duty at St. Charles Catholic School. Phyllis Bernhardt instructed Joann to help her complete the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine at St. Charles Catholic Church. She was an avid sports fan of the Cassville Comets and the Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include her sister, Judith (Gene) Lorenz; two brothers: Robert (Raenette) Glass, Jr.; Jeffery (Mary) Glass; 6 nieces and nephews; 5 great-nieces and nephews with one on the way; one great-great niece.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Robert and Berneal.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville, with Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in Cassville Cemetery, rural Cassville. Family and friends called on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Homes and Crematory in Cassville is assisting the family.
