Joan M. Krantz

Joan M. Krantz, age 58, of Burton, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Grant Regional Health Center, Lancaster. She was born on June 29, 1960, in Lancaster, the daughter of Edmund and Avanelle (Place) Sedbrook. Joan attended Potosi schools. On November 4, 1978, she was united in marriage to Paul J. Krantz at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. After their marriage, Joan provided in-home daycare. She enjoyed cooking, camping, collecting cows and playing Panda Pop and Solitaire. Joan dearly loved spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her loving husband, Paul Krantz; children: Aaron (Katie) Sedbrook; Terri Krantz; Sarah Krantz; Nikki Krantz; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; her siblings: Judi (John) Meir; Sharon Pagel; Karen (Ed) Hall; Beverly Geisler; Linda (Danny) Wiest; Richard (Nancy) Sedbrook; Marsha (Jerry) Gerber; Susan (Robert) Meier; Randy (Laurie) Sedbrook; mother-in-law, Lois Krantz; in-laws: Roger (Nancy) Krantz; Marge (Bill) Gantenbein; Bill (Deb) Krantz; Mike Krantz; Patrick Krantz; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by a son, Mathew; father-in-law, Vernon Krantz; sister, Diana; her brothers-in-law: Gary Pagel and Gary Krantz; her beloved dog, Mabel.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 1234 S Madison, Lancaster, with Reverend Mark Dieter officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
