Joan Edge

David R. Edge, age 59 and  Joan M. Edge, age 59, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, as a result of a motorcycle accident. David was born on March 25, 1954, the son of Ray and Clara (Scott) Edge. Joan was born on December 14, 1953, the daughter of Joseph and Mamie (Udelhoven) Dressler. On June 28, 1974, they were united in marriage in Lancaster. Together they farmed and raised their family in Potosi Township. Dave and Joan enjoyed the trips they had on their motorcycle. David liked hunting, and Joan liked to play cards and garden. Time spent with their children and grandchildren was most important.

Survivors include their children: Jason (Tara); Jerett (Debbie); Jesse; Jena (fianc Ashley Lawrence) Edge; Jennifer (Shawn) Foley; 14 grandchildren; Davids siblings: Vyra (Garland) Gotzinger; Arlene (Paul) Maring; Mary Udelhoven; Ruth (Gary) Kruser; Jolene (Harvey) Perkins; Joans siblings: Sr. Anna Marie Dressler; Agnes Simpson; Alma Moris; Catherine (John) Oberfoell; Rose (Herbert) Koppen; Bernadette Thole; Mary (Floyd) Churchill; Claire (Calvin) Churchill; Bernard (Theresa), James (Jan) and Clement (Betty) Dressler; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joan is preceded in death by two sisters: Virginia (Bill) Brockway; Theresa (Carl) Martin; her brothers-in-law: Peter Moris and Edward Simpson. David is preceded in death by two brothers-in law: Russell Wamsley and Bob Udelhoven, and a nephew Doug Maring.

Funeral services were held on Monday, September 2, 2013, at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Tennyson at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Pamela Strakeljahn officiating. Burial was in Hurricane Cemetery, S. Lancaster Township. Family and friends called on Sunday, September 1, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. In lieu of plants and flowers a David and Joan Edge Memorial Fund has been established. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Potosi is serving the family.
