Jerid William Lyght, 46, of Platteville passed away unexpectedly, thus entering his Heavenly home on April 27, 2024. Jerid was born on December 14, 1977, to Bernie and Roxanne (Thompson) Lyght and filled their world with great joy. His parents adored him. Jerid embodied Love as defined in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 “Love is patient, love is kind…” Jerid graduated from Platteville High School in 1996 and began working for his family’s business, Lyghthouse Assisted Living.
In 2011, God led two souls together. Jerid and Belinda (White) were best friends and each other’s better halves. Jerid was proud to call Belinda’s daughter, Hannah, his daughter and their family was joined together on April 6, 2013. They welcomed two additional children to this union, Bernard and Violet. Jerid took great pride in all three of his beautiful children. His loss will be felt by all who knew him as he was selfless and a natural caretaker.
Jerid was a member of Calvary Community Church in Lancaster and had accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior many years ago. Jerid is safe in God’s Everlasting Arms.
Jerid is survived by: his loving wife Belinda, their children Hannah, Bernard, and Violet, his mother Roxanne Lyght and brother Joe (Jeni Ginter-Lyght) Lyght and their two children, his mother and father-in-law Ronald and Vicki White, brothers-in-law Ben (Tonya Paradiso) Baker, Robert (Shannon Wayman) Baker, sisters-in-law Brandi (Mitchell) Dreher, Brittany (Chris) Glenn and Bethany (Teddy) White and Grandmother-in-law Patsy White, as well as many extended family members and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bernie Lyght, maternal grandparents Joe Thompson, Clarence and Gladys Kienzle, paternal grandparents Bernard “Bud” Lyght and Lloyd and Phyllis Curkeet. His grandmother-in-laws, Betty J. Baker and Rosella Fritz.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Calvary Community Church, 9175 Western Ave, Lancaster, WI with funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Jerid will be interred at Liberty Ridge Cemetery, Lancaster, WI. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory is entrusted with his care.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Southwest Health Center EMS, Cyrena Sexton, Mike and Jen North, Nate and Amy, Dreckman, Ashley and Dan Oyen and the Tri-State Homeschool Network and all area churches who lifted up the Lyght family during this difficult time. Your prayers are felt and are providing comfort.
In lieu of plants or flowers a Jerid Lyght Memorial fund has been established.
