Lancaster – Jeannie Phalen, age 86, of Lancaster, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Fenimore. She was born November 21, 1935, in Platteville, WI; the daughter of Cyril and Hazel (Buss) Klar. Jeannie graduated from Platteville High School. On June 28, 1970, Jeannie was united in marriage to Jack Phalen. Jeannie was a full-time mother and babysat for her grandchildren and several other children for many years. She was a devoted member of the St. Clement Catholic Church. Jeannie had a green thumb and enjoyed all types of gardening, was a talented seamstress, enjoyed fishing with Jack, arts and crafts, interior design, and loved cooking and cleaning. She was an empathetic, compassionate soul whose kind and giving ways will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Survivors include her daughter and five sons: Brian (Christine) Corell, Lancaster; Bobbi (Doug) Bainbridge, Roscoe, IL; Blaine (Tish) Corell, Edgerton, WI; Tom (Lorie) Phalen, Lancaster; Tim (Jessie) Phalen, Reedsburg, WI; and Jim Phalen, Wisconsin Dells, WI; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also, sisters Judy Klar, Pat (Myron) Reuter, JoAnne Marshall and brothers, Bob Klar, Jim (Joyce) Klar, many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Jeannie was preceded in death by her siblings: Marilyn Klar Klosterman, Bonnie Klar Iverson, Dick Klar, and Francis Klar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Vernon officiating. Visitation will be at St Clement Catholic Church, Monday, October 10, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services, where an 8:45 a.m. rosary will be prayed. A luncheon will be held at the St Clement Dining Hall after the service. Burial will be held in St Clement Cemetery, Lancaster, after the luncheon. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.
