Jean Marie Crubel, age 83, of Bloomington, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014, at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien. She was born on August 9, 1930, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Charles and Marie (Tesar) Draka. On February 5, 1951, Jean married Gerald Jerry Crubel at St. Johns Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2000. Together they farmed near Bloomington for many years. Jean was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington. She enjoyed reading, cooking, spending time with her family, friends, and especially all of her grandchildren.
Survivors include her two sons: Jeffrey (Victoria) Crubel and James (Kelly) Crubel, both of Bloomington. Jean was especially fond of her grandchildren: Stephanie (Nick) Zeeh; Molly (Wade) Winkers; Kirby and Clinton Crubel; Nikole (Matt) Hoffman; Nathan (Tracy) Crubel; Andrew (Andrea) Crubel; Austin (Clarissa Briggs); Kara (Matthew Wright); and Quinn Crubel; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers: Robert (Ruth) Draka, Stoddard; Donald (Joan) Draka, Prairie du Chien; sister, Mary Diane (Dwight) Boom, Prairie du Chien; other relatives and many friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in St. Marys Cemetery, Bloomington. Family and friends called on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Bloomington is assisting the family.
