Jean Holt

Jean N. Holt, age 81, of Platteville, WI, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Grays Nursing Home in Platteville. Jean was born on November 17, 1931 in Rockville, WI, a daughter of Harry and Lillon (Rice) Shaw. She graduated from Potosi High School in 1949. Jean married Arthur Luverne Holt on November 25, 1950. She retired from A.Y. McDonald in Dubuque in 1994.

Jean was a member of Mt. Zion United Church of Christ in Cornelia. She enjoyed doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, crocheting, feeding and watching birds, gardening, and vacationing in Northern Wisconsin. She also enjoyed her daily lunches with friends.

Jean is survived by her children, Eldon (Lufel) Holt, Connie (Hollis) Stoltz, Richard Holt, Harry (Trudy) Holt, John (Brenda) Holt, and Susan (Marty) White; a sister, Sharon Stenulson; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her parents; a sister, Shirley White; a brother-in-law, Kenny Stenulson; and a granddaughter, Melissa Moore.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 5, 2012 at the Mt. Zion United Church of Christ in Cornelia, with Rev. Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery. Friends called from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, October 4, at Martin Funeral Home in Potosi, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
