Jean Frances Adams, 85, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. Jean was born to Lillard Kieler and Hazel Lenstra Kieler. She married Mark Adams at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dubuque on May 30, 1950. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2002.

Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was a long time member of St. Clement Church, a master gardener and member of the Lancaster Garden Club.

Jean is survived by her children: James (Jane); Timothy (Patricia); Daniel (Anne); Susan; Paul (Lorrie); Janet (Randall) Nodorft; Patrick; Martin (Lori); Cynthia (Thomas) Simon; Douglas (Shelly Biggin); Gregory (Amy); Gerald (Amy); Cheryl (Kevin) Kadera; Angela (Brian) Bird; and Steven (Erika); 30 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Rea (Patrick); brothers-in-law, Gene Sullivan and Richard (Janis) Adams; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Schultz, Dolores Hosch and Cecelia (Charles) Breihan and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Lawrence Meyer, her sister, Marilyn Sullivan, a daughter-in-law, Nancy Adams; several brothers and sisters-in-law, and a great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Adams.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Reverend John Sasse officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Visitation was from 4:00 until 7:00 pm on Monday, November 2, 2015, at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 111 South Tyler Street in Lancaster, where a 3:45 p.m. scripture service was held. Family and friends also called on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Jean F. Adams Memorial Fund has been established to benefit Jean's favorite charities and organizations.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Jean's neighbors and caregivers who provided much appreciated kindness, friendship, transportation and household services for many years, to the caretakers at Orchard Manor and to Bill Manthe.

Jean will be very sadly missed by her family. Rest in peace Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma.
