Janell L. “Nellie” Bradshaw, age 75, of Lancaster, WI, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born in Dubuque, IA, on July 6, 1945, the daughter of Alois and Sylvia (Schmidt) Junk. Janell graduated from Cassville High School in 1964, and then went on to marry Leonard Bradshaw, Jr. on June 7, 1976. Among her many roles in life, Janell was most proud of her work as a CNA; most recently for over 14 years at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. In her free time, Janell enjoyed visiting with neighbors, playing cards, Friday night meals out with friends, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She will be long remembered by her grandchildren for her fun way with words and lasting giggle.
Janell is survived by her children: Michelle (Brandon) Young, Robert (Dianne) Bradshaw, and Melissa (Jeff Ferguson) Bradshaw; 6 precious grandchildren: Kelly (Ben Handfelt) Bishop, Austin and Carter Young, Braelyn Bradshaw, Ainslea Ferguson, and Robert Bradshaw; 8 siblings: Maryann Caldwell, Dorothy Kirchberg, Lois Houghton, Al (Donna) Junk, Leo (Deb) Junk, Paul (Donna) Junk, Ken Junk, and Joe (Sue) Junk; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Janell was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, in 1984; and siblings: Lorraine Beall, Karen Brown, and Richard Junk.
A prayer service honoring Janell’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2020 at the Martin Schwartz Funeral Home and Crematory in Lancaster with Pam Strakeljahn officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, August 24, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Martin Schwartz Funeral Home and Crematory in Lancaster. In lieu of plants, flowers, and other gifts a Janell L. “Nellie” Bradshaw Memorial Fund has been established. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home and Crematory in Lancaster is entrusted with her services.
The family wishes to acknowledge Dr. Erin Huebschman and Grant County Hospice for everything they did to help Janell, and to Nathan and the Staff at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home and Crematory for their compassionate care.
