James Wagar

James R. Wagar, age 46, of Beetown, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Grant Regional Health Center, Lancaster. He was born on March 19, 1968, in Lancaster, the son of Joseph and Elinor (Metcalf) Wagar. Jim graduated from Lancaster High School in May 1986. He then graduated from Wisconsin School of Electronics in Madison in June 1988 with an Associate Degree in Electronics. Jim moved to Florida where he worked for Aero Aire. He often traveled to England, France, Canada and the entire United States. Jim even worked on the Presidents helicopter at Stratford, Connecticut. On June 23, 1990, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Lori Lynn Richardson. After their marriage, the couple moved back to Wisconsin in 1996. Jim worked at Dillman Equipment Co., Division of Astec, Tennessee for the past sixteen years. He enjoyed fishing, outdoor activities and family functions. Jim dearly enjoyed spending time with his wife and daughters. He also enjoyed making hovercrafts in his basement with his brother. Jim loved to debate and had a dry sense of humor that will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lori; daughters: Tara and Katelin, all of Beetown; his parents, Joseph and Elinor Wagar, Beetown; brothers: David (Beth) Wagar, Bloomington; Lynn (Jamie) Wagar, Prairie du Chien; sister, Brenda (Dan) Odeen, Prairie du Chien; his mother and father-in-law, Mary and David Richardson, Potosi; sisters-in-law, Michelle Richardson, Potosi; Michelyn (Todd) Clanton, Prairie du Chien; brother-in-law, David (Melissa) Richardson, Lancaster; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance was held on Friday, April 25, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster. Burial was in Dodge Cemetery, Beetown Township. Family and friends called on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, a James R. Wagar Memorial Fund has been established.
