James W. Fagan

 James William Jim Fagan, age 67, died on Sunday, March 3, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed at his home in Cassville with family by his side. He was born on March 25, 1945, in Dubuque, the son of Robert Thomas Fagan and Lucille Margaret (Kremer) Fagan. On April 27, 1963, Jim was united in marriage to Bonnie Lee Greenwalt at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Key West, Dubuque, IA. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1963, and served his country in the United States Air Force in England and state side from November 1963 until November 1967. Jim was employed at Dubuque Packing Company, Heritage Manor, and in Davenport, IA, at Alcoa as a Millwright until his retirement when he moved to Cassville. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Jims hobbies included camping and boating and he was an avid fisherman and woodworker.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Fagan, Cassville; their children: Suzanne (Todd) Brinkman, Cassville; Peter (Joanne) Fagan, Viola; Karilee (Dennis) Kelley, Potosi; Samuel (Jan) Fagan, Bettendorf, IA; grandchildren: Payton, Kyran, and Irelyn Brinkman, Wade and Margaret Brown, and Samuel Fagan, Jr., two step-granddaughters: Kelicia and Katelyn Kelley; one step-great granddaughter, Abigail Kelley; his brother, Ronald (Sara) Fagan, Peosta, IA; his sister, Betty (Harold) Pollock, Cassville; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by one infant brother, Marvin; and an infant child, Rachael Elizabeth.

Memorial services with military honors were held on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Cassville with Dr. Max McCaw as the Eulogist. Burial will be at a later date. Family and friends called on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

 The family would like to thank Grant County Hospice, especially Kim, and the University of Wisconsin Madison Hospitals and Clinics.
