James "Sonny" White

James W. "Sonny" White, age 86, of Potosi, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. He was born on February 15, 1929, in Lancaster, the son of James A. and Elvina K. (Kress) White. Sonny loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting turkey and deer, cooking, the Chicago Cubs, and doing arts and crafts. He enjoyed making homemade fishing lures for fly fishing. Sonny dearly loved his nieces and nephews and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his eight siblings: Eileen (Joseph) Klein, Livingston; Albert White, Platteville; Garland (Rose) White; Ralph (Eileen) White; LaVon "Bonnie" (John) Vogelsberg, all of Potosi; EeVon "Eevie" (Paul) Klein, Strawberry, AZ; Sandy (Rod) Blum, Anchorage AK; Joe (Rose Ann) White, Potosi; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Shirley White; a nephew, Scott Klein; a great-nephew, Jonathan White; and a great-niece, Blair Haas.

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 7, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Potosi with Reverend Jim McMahon officiating. Burial was in British Hollow Cemetery, Potosi. Family and friends called on Thursday, August 6, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
