James R. Nalepinski, age 79, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, IA. He was born on July 19, 1937, on his grandparent's farm in Wingville Township, Grant County, the son of Louis and Wilma (Doescher) Nalepinski. James grew up in Muscoda and later moved to Madison. He graduated from Madison Central High School in 1956. James enrolled at University of Wisconsin-Madison, and later transferred to University of Wisconsin-Platteville, graduating in 1962. It was there where he met his wife, Nancy Willkomm and they married in 1963. James was a teacher and later worked for his father-in-law, Bernie, at his car dealership in Cassville. In 1969, he began employment with Wisconsin Power and Light and held many positions, retiring in 1989. In retirement, James drove semi with his son, Andy, and later worked at Land's End and was a substitute teacher.
Survivors include his children: Andy (Tara); Julie (Dave) Lenzendorf; Wendy (Scott) Klicko; 8 grandchildren; a sister, Karen Adler; and many members of the Nalepinski and Willkomm family.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; his siblings: Carlisle and Beverly Nalepinski.
Funeral services were Friday, October 14, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster. Private family burial was held in Beetown Cemetery, Beetown Township. Family and friends called on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
