Cassville – James L. "Jim" Lenz, age 72 passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 at University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics in Madison. He was born August 17, 1945 in Manitowoc, Wis. the son of Henry and Cleora (Proulx) Lenz. Jim graduated from Cassville High School in 1964. He served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1968. Jim was united into marriage to Kathleen M. "Kathy" Esser on August 22, 1970 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. Jim and Kathy lived in Madison, while Jim obtained his journey man's card. In 1974 they returned to Cassville, and Jim began his career with John Deere Dubuque tractor works as a tool & die maker. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and its Choir. Jim was also a member of the Donaldson Kelley Kirschbaum VFW Post #7080. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, deer and turkey hunting and camping with his family. Jim was looking forward to the upcoming ice fishing season.
Surviving is his wife Kathy, his daughters; Tina (Joanne) Lenz-Mandt, and Tara (Matthew) Garon
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by an infant brother Richard.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Fr. James Uppena and Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary's Settlement Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville, where a 3:00 p.m. parish scripture will be prayed, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville is serving the family.
