James E. Caley

James E. Jim Caley, age 52, of Beetown, died on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Orchard Manor in rural Lancaster after a short battle with cancer. He was born on September 14, 1958, in Lancaster, the son of Glen L. and Eula Mae (Rennison) Caley. Jim attended Cassville High School. He was employed at the Beetown Livestock and also worked as a farmhand for Lyle Schauff. Jim enjoyed life and being outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, and mushroom hunt.

Survivors include his mother, Eula Mae Caley, Beetown; his siblings: Darrell (Theresa) Caley, Beetown; Dorothy Arndt,  Platteville; Gloria Caley, Beetown; Joan (Lonnie) Thill, Potosi; and Brenda (Tom) Roesch, Lancaster; nine nieces and nephews; four great-nieces, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

James was preceded in death by his grandparents: James and Edna Rennison and Ora and Nellie Caley; his father, Glen L. Caley on February 20, 2005; a nephew, Jeremy Arndt in September of 1980, and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 21, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster with Pastor Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial was in Beetown Cemetery, Beetown. Family and friends called on Sunday, March 20, 2011, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster and on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, a James E. Caley memorial fund has been established.
