Jacoba Kritzinger, age 56, of Lancaster, died Thursday, May 19, 2016 at her home under the care of Home Health United Hospice. Jacoba was born on January 20, 1960 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, the daughter of Daniel & Aletta (Olivier) Kritzinger.
Jacoba attended Joubertina High School and graduated from Charlie Cribb College in Port Elizabeth with her Midwife RN. She married Jan Pierre Lourens in 1983. In 2000 the family moved to the United States and finally settled in Lancaster. She divorced in 2007.
Jacoba worked tirelessly to provide for her children and continued a life of sacrifice until her death.
Jacoba is survived by her children, Su-Alette (Gereld) Moore, Juanna (Cole Miller) Lourens, and Jaun-Pierre Lourens; three grandsons, Brady James Moore, Cooper Alan Moore, and Declan Thomas Miller; a sister, Margaretha (Hennie) Zwiegers; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Friends called from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the church. Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is assisting the family.
