Ivanelle M. Tucker, age 90, of Lancaster, died on Monday, March 1, 2010, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born on June 2, 1919 in Ellenboro Township, rural Grant County, the daughter of Christopher Carl and Cornelia Alma (Trollop) Graney. She married Jack Tucker in Madison on December 24, 1941. Together they farmed on the family farm in Ellenboro Township and resided in Ellenboro virtually all of their lives. Ivanelles greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She took great pride in cooking for her family and was particularly known for her exceptional pie making ability. She volunteered her time assisting with Ellenboro Township elections for many years and was an avid bird watcher and gardener.
Surviving Ivanelle are her children, Stephen (Elizabeth) Tucker, Platteville, Jane (Fritz) Staver of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Dean (Barbara) Tucker, Lancaster, Julie (Rick) Ley of Madison; Seven very special grandchildren, Jennifer (Scot) Zimmerman, Rob Staver, Emily Tucker, Brian Tucker, Lauren Tucker, Matthew Ley and Jillian Ley; and 2 great grandchildren, Brian Zimmerman and Elizabeth Zimmerman; two sisters, Helen Lowell, Lancaster, and Shirley Schaal, Platteville, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Tucker; a sister, Pat Junk; a brother, Dale Graney, and a sister, Berna Graney ; and her parents.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster. Burial was in the Whig Cemetery, Harrison Township, rural Platteville. Family and friends called on Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Schwartz Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. and on Friday, March 5, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
