Irene M. Salmon, age 86, died Friday April 20, 2012 at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien. She was born January 5, 1926 in Bagley the daughter of Edward and Lydia (Meng) Fuller. Irene married Larry L Salmon on December 8, 1963 at St. Peters Lutheran Parsonage in Prairie du Chien. She was employed at National Decorated Metal for fifteen years, until its closing. Irene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bagley. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. Irene had a love for animals that included her dogs; Deacon, Boomer, Teal and her cat Frisky.
Irene is survived by her daughter Annette (Larry Solomon) Myers, Prairie du Chien; three grandchildren, Lacey (Albert) Vopat, Elgin, IL; Kristie (Todd Kuchenbecker) Myers, and John (Cheryl) Myers, of Prairie du Chien; three great grandchildren, Kina and Jack Myers and Jordan Vopat; brothers and sisters: Edward (Doris) Fuller, Jr., Gary (Rita) Fuller, Ida Marie Clark, Emma Jean Poston, and Linda (Rex) Day, and a sister-in-law, Bernice Fuller, all of Prairie du Chien, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry, her sisters Maxine (Herbert) Wolf and Betty Jean Fuller, her brothers Earl (Doris), Robert and Leo Fuller, and brother-in-laws, Art Clark and Harold Poston.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Bagley with Rev. Pamela Strakeljahn officiating. Burial was in the Bagley Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday April 23, 2012 from 9:00 am until time of services at the church. The Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington is assisting the family.
