Irene Flitsch

Irene L. Flitsch, age 94, formerly of Cassville, passed away Monday, December 8, 2014, at the Lancaster Care Center, Lancaster. She was born March 26, 1920, in rural Cassville, the daughter of Albert and Maggie (Kirschbaum) Hochhausen. On March 6, 1939, she was united in marriage to Maynard Flitsch. Irene was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Her days were filled with taking care of their household. Irene loved to go shopping, playing cards, traveling and dancing with Maynard. During their retirement years they loved to travel and winter in the south.

Irene is survived by her three children: Delbert (Julia) Flitsch, Gays Mills; Linda (Greg) Dunn, Las Vegas; Kenneth (Beth) Flitsch, Necedah; two granddaughters: Karla (Ted) Krajewski, Middleton; Angie Meyer, Fall River; 6 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Laugesen, Dubuque, IA; brother, Julius Hochhausen, Cassville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Maynard in 2004, siblings: Leona (Louis) Miner and John (Mary) Hochhausen.

Funeral services were held on Monday, December 15, 2014, at 11:00 a .m. at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cassville with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends called on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, an Irene L. Flitsch Memorial Fund has been established.
