Ila D. Adams, age 87, of Lancaster, died on Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born on January 2, 1925, in Wisconsin, the daughter of Tom and Nellie (Cooley) Bass. Ila attended country school. In 1941, Ila was united in marriage to Walter Dubel in Cassville. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Mt. Hope and Lancaster. After their retirement, the couple moved to Lancaster, where Ila was employed with Finney Implement. The couple later moved to Bagley and Ila worked for Bass Newsstand. Walter preceded Ila in death in 1985. In 1987, Ila was united in marriage to Clarence Adams in Bagley. After their marriage, the couple moved to Lancaster. Clarence preceded Ila in death. Ila enjoyed crafts, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking and entertaining family and friends. She also enjoyed going out to eat and going for drives. Ilas family and faith were very important to her.
Survivors include her son, Ron (Jules) Dubel, Lancaster; four grandchildren: Julianne, Justine, Tim and Dan Dubel; three great-grandchildren: Brittany, Donnie and Casie Dubel; one brother, Clinton (Norma) Bass, Beloit; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her husbands, Ila was preceded in death by a son, Jim and her brothers and sister: Bob, Jim and Tom Bass and Betty Hardwood.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster with Pastor Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster.
