 Hobart LaVerne Reynolds, age 84, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born in Beetown, the son of Archie and Vera (Elwell) Reynolds. Hobart attended country school at Five Points and Beetown School. He was employed with Al Klaas Construction and Eastman Cartwright. On May 3, 1950, Hobart was united in marriage to Ramona Miles at the Lancaster United Methodist Church Parsonage. In 1958, he and his uncle Norman Elwell began the business Elwell and Reynolds Building Service. Elwell and Reynolds Building Service constructed many local churches, homes and businesses, including Highland Estates. In 1984, Hobart retired from Elwell and Reynolds Building Service. He was a member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church, Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department, Southwest Wisconsin Antique Car Club, and Grant Antique Club. Hobart had a passion for antique cars. He built a 1929 Chevrolet from scratch along with restoring many other cars. Hobart also enjoyed musical instruments, especially the guitar, and woodworking. He loved spending time with family and enjoyed the family camping trips and family travels.

Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-three years, Ramona, Lancaster; their children: Brenda (Tim Seabrooke) Miehe, Elgin, IA; James (Sheila) Reynolds, Lancaster; four grandchildren: Davis (Whitney Johnson) Miehe, Trevor Miehe, Amanda (Joe Bailie) Reynolds, and Tiffany (Jakob Regal) Reynolds; three great-grandchildren: Abrianna Miehe, Blake Bailie, and Konner Bailie; his sister, Lillian Bid (Dennis) Duncan, Beetown; and a sister-in-law, Connie Reynolds, Lancaster.

In addition to his parents, Hobart was preceded in death by his siblings: Wilma Hutchcroft Sisley, Marshall (Jeannine) Reynolds, and Delano Reynolds; his brother-in-law: Ervin Hutchcroft; a sister-in-law, Donna (Earl) Bradley; and a great-granddaughter, Brooke Bailie.

Funeral services were held on Friday, June 7, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Pastor Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Thursday, June 6, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is assisting the family.
