Heidi M. Handal

Heidi Margret Handal, age 20, of Lancaster, went home to be with her Savior on Monday, July 25, 2011 at Southwest Health Center in Platteville. She was born on August 25, 1990, in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Issa and Mary (Rader) Handal. Heidi graduated from Lancaster High School in 2008. She furthered her education at the University of Wisconsin Platteville, where she was a junior majoring in Accounting. Heidi was serving an internship at DuTrac Community Credit Union in Dubuque, IA, as an internal auditor. She was a member of the Rolling Hills Church in Platteville. Heidi loved to cook and gather people together to share her love of food. She also enjoyed the art of spinning wool. Heidi had a vast knowledge of trivia and facts.

Survivors include her parents, Issa and Mary Handal, Lancaster; her sister, Hannah Handal, Lancaster; maternal grandparents, Jacqueline and John Rader, Lancaster; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.

Heidi was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Hanna and Margret Tata Handal.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lancaster Congregational Church with Pastor Jeff Nettles and Pastor Mark Dieter officiating. Private family burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lancaster Congregational Church and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster is assisting the family.
