Harriett M. Jeidy, age 84, formerly of Lancaster, Bagley, and Prairie du Chien, died on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at the Lancaster Care Center. She was born on June 9, 1926, in Seneca, Crawford County, WI, the daughter of Ernest and Cynthia (Heisz) Messling. Harriett was united in marriage on October 19, 1944 to Bernard J. Jeidy in Sonoma, CA, and enjoyed forty-nine years together until his passing on April 18, 1993.
Survivors include two daughters: Bernadine (Grant) Porath, LaCrosse; Doris Dot (Mick) Millin, Bagley; six grandchildren: Tammy (Jim) Coorough, Milwaukee; Kelly Tichenor, Mt. Horeb; Shelley (Bob) Kellogg, LaCrosse; Jason (Jody) Millin, Mt. Hope; Diana Irish, Minneapolis; Kevin Raasch, LaCrosse; thirteen great-grandchildren: Scott, Jessica, Ashley, Lindsey, Lexi, Brittany, Nathan, Tyler, Garrett, Payton, Owen, Mackenzie, and Christian; two sisters: Julia Larmore, Dickeyville; and Bernice Cooper, Prairie du Chien; one brother, Robert (Ruth Ann) Messling, Mt. Sterling; sister-in-law, Marilyn Messling, Prairie du Chien; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Harriett was preceded in death by her husband, five brothers: Paulie, Kelly, Edwin Buddy, Roger and Ronnie Messling; an infant twin sister, Helen.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington with Pastor Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial was in Union Nagle Cemetery in Patch Grove Township. Family and friends called on Saturday, April 16, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
