After many successful battles with death, Harriet Marie Carlos (Winkler), succumbed Sunday,June 6, 2010 with family and her loving husband of 55 years by her side.

Harriet was born in Potosi Wisconsin , the daughter of Celestine Sr. and Emma (Freisen) Winkler. With her siblings, Selma , Maynard, Joseph, Marcella (Brandt) , Marie (Ambort), Delores (Leibfried), and Celestine Jr. Winkler, Harriet worked the family farm and attended school. In the early 1950s, she boldly moved to California to work for Hughes Aircraft. It was there she met her future husband. Harriett and Joseph Desiderio Carlos were married in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tennyson , Wisconsin in 1954.

Living in California , Harriet and Joe raised three children, Lawrence, Teresa, and Vincent. Harriets immediate family includes Larrys wife Donna-Renee and sons Alexander and Neil; Teresas husband Craig James and a daughter; and Vinces wife Tracie and sons Chris and Corey.

Harriet lived a simple life, having lifetime passions of  polka music, dogs, and volunteer work. Larry, Teresa, and Vincent are grateful for her lessons of love, hard work, and dedication. They are thankful as well, for the many ways their father loved and cared for their mother. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.

Visitation was from 11:30am to 1:00pm, June 22nd, at St. Andrews Church , Tennyson Wi . The service followed the visitation at 1:00 pm. Burial was in St. Andrews Cemetery , Tennyson directly after the service. The Martin Funeral Home in Potosi is in charge of the arrangements.
