Grace M. Mayne

BEETOWN – Grace M. Mayne, age 89, of Beetown, Wisconsin, passed away on September 19, 2022, at Morningside Assisted Living in Lancaster. She was born August 1, 1933, in rural Beetown, the daughter of Charles and Marie (Marlow) Thorpe. Grace attended grade school in rural Beetown and Lancaster High School. On January 20, 1951, Grace was united in marriage to Burnell Mayne. She farmed with Burnell for 40 years, with the help of their five sons. After retiring from farming, Grace worked at the Blooming Basket Floral Shop in Dick’s Grocery Store. She was a member of the Beetown Methodist Church, where she was part of the Beetown Church Ladies and was also a board member of the church. Grace spent time with friends by being a member of the Beetown Sew Sew Club. She was extremely passionate about her children and grandchildren. Her kind and giving ways will be missed by everyone that new her.

Survivors include her five sons: Randy (Marla), Wickenburg, AZ, Gary (Terry), Lancaster; Kevin (Rhonda), Spring Green; Brian (Terry), Cassville; Kurtis (Rebecca), Missoula, MT; eight grandchildren: Tara (Brad) Austin; Matt (Ashlee) Mayne; Chris (Jodi) Mayne; Kyle Mayne; Kessa (Nik) Jacobs; Crystal (Dustin) Starrett; Mariah Mayne; Ty Mayne; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Grace is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Burnell; and her siblings: Pauline (Earl) Donaldson and Ted Thorpe.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster, with Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial will be held in Beetown Cemetery, Beetown. Family and friends may call on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. A luncheon will be held at the Beetown Town Hall after the burial. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.
