Goldie Ann Burr (Brandemuehl), age 86, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home. She was born on August 4, 1925 in Lancaster, WI, daughter of Carl and Nellie Brandehmuehl. Goldie graduated from Lancaster High School in 1943 and then attended college at UW-Platteville.

Goldie married her high school sweetheart, Robert O. Burr on November 23, 1946 in Lancaster. She was a longtime employee of the Lancaster school system and worked at the Winskill Elementary School.

Goldie and Bob enjoyed singing at family gatherings and social events. She loved visiting with family and friends as well as bowling, golfing, camping, travel and playing euchre. Goldie was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Lancaster, a member of the Eastern Star Lodge, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Goldie is survived by her three sons: Dennis Burr, Lancaster; Mark (Teri) Burr, Aurora, CO; and James (Jane) Burr, Littleton, CO.; one grandson, Trevor Burr, Littleton, CO; three step-grandsons: Jason Poffenbarger, Westminster, CO; Eric Roberts, Denver, CO; Michael Roberts, Golden, CO; Sisters-in-Law, Mary (Schwantes) Brandemuehl, and Marsha (Houghton) Burr, both of Lancaster; Retha (Grebe) Brandemuehl, Milwaukee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Carl and Nellie Brandemuehl, her husband, Robert O. Burr; brothers; Robert, Lyus, Donald and James; sisters; Beatrice (Earl) Hoffman, Carol (Eddie) Wofford and Gladys (Tom) Perich.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Reverend Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was at Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. An Eastern Star service was held at 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Goldie A. Burr Memorial Fund has been established. Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster is assisting the family.
