Gloria Pauley

Gloria L. Pauley, age 86, of Potosi, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Good Samaritan Society, Fennimore. She was born January 16, 1931, in Lancaster, the daughter of Adolf C. and Elenore (Salis) Buss. Gloria graduated from Lancaster High School. She was employed as a nurse's aide at Xavier Hospital in Dubuque, IA, and the former Lancaster Memorial Hospital. Gloria later was employed at Loudspeaker Components LLC in Lancaster and retired after working at the Twin Platte Center. She enjoyed going to auctions, fishing, shopping, spending time with her children and grandchildren. Gloria and her husband, Jim, spent many wonderful winters in Louisiana, where they liked to travel and listen to Cajun music.

Survivors are her daughters: Vicki (Dennis) Clark; Deb (John) Stoney; Carol (Dale) Meier; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Dave (Diane) Buss; a sister, Sandy Carns; sisters-in-law: Darlene and Sheila Buss; Mary and Ruth Pauley; Melrose Stoney.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her son, Daniel "Otis" (Darla) Oates; her brothers: La Dell "Buzzy", Steve and Gary Buss; brothers-in-law: Tess, Frank, and Jack Pauley; Dale Stoney; and George "Ted" Carns.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 144 N Main, Potosi. Burial was in Van Buren Cemetery, Potosi. Family and friends called on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
