Geraldine Mae Swart, age 88, of Platteville, passed away peacefully, on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Lafayette Manor in Darlington, WI. She was born on January 5, 1934, in Platteville, the daughter of Walter and Phyllis (Tracy) Goke. Geraldine graduated from Platteville High School in 1951. On September 21, 1963, she was united in marriage to Richard L. Swart at the First English Lutheran Church in Platteville. On May 10, 1966, Geraldine and Richard adopted identical blue-eyed twin girls transforming their house into a family home. She was co-owner and bookkeeper of the County Seedman, Inc., located in Platteville for 20 years. She retired in 1996 to care for her husband who suffered from COPD. He preceded her in death in 1998. Geraldine enjoyed visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing, gambling, watching television, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. She loved making and giving away chocolate Easter eggs filled with candy and at Christmastime: pecan turtles, peanut brittle, peanut clusters, fudge, and divinity.
Survivors include her two daughters: Kathleen (Steven) Kaiser and Kimeron (Michael) Kutzke; a sister, Joyce Ebert; sister-in-law and first cousin, Betty Swart; 7 grandchildren: Holly (Matt) Clendenen; Ryan (Tara) Kaiser; Adam (Brooke) Kaiser; Stacy (Thomas) Pickel; Aaron (Mallory) Kaiser; Stefanie (Hristijan Krstev) Kaiser, and Jared Kaiser; great-grandchildren: Carter, Kennedy, and Kellen Clendenen; Callie, Charlotte, and Keston Kaiser; Charlee, Hayden, Dexter, and Archer Kaiser; Kobe, Ezra, and Harper Pickel; Everett and Elliott Kaiser; Maverick and Everett Kaiser; Ezekiel Jarjue; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and her loving husband, Richard, Geraldine was preceded in death by a sister, Ona Richards; brothers-in-law: Cletus Ebert and Daniel Richards; a grandson, Paul M. Kaiser; close friend, Nell Block; and favorite dachshunds, Pepper, and Ebony.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at First English Lutheran Church in Platteville with Pastor Brenda Crossfield officiating. The burial will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
