Gerald L. Shepherd

Gerald L. Shepherd, age 74, of Lancaster, died on Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at his home in Lancaster. He was born on June 1, 1936, in Beetown, the son of LaVerne F. and Bevla G. (Peake) Shepherd. Gerald graduated from Lancaster High School in 1954. He later relocated to Cedar Rapids, IA, where he was employed with Weyerhauser as a factory worker for many years. Following his retirement, Gerald moved back to the Lancaster area in 2008. He loved collecting antiques and restoring antique furniture.

Survivors include his children: Gwenda Shepherd, Gerald Shepherd, Jr., both of Cedar Rapids, IA; and Garlen Shepherd, Coralville, IA; two grandchildren, and many cousins.

Gerald was preceded in death by his father, LaVerne and his mother, Belva Stonkey.

Graveside services were held on Friday, November 12, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating.
