 Genevieve M. Losch, age 93, of Lancaster died Friday, February 29, 2008 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born on March 2, 1914 in Lima Township, WI; the daughter of William and Cordelia (Holzer) Sherwin. She attended Franklin School in Lima Township through the eighth grade. After her mothers premature death, Gen raised her siblings and took care of her father until her marriage. On February 5, 1934, she married Dorman Losch in Galena, IL. The couple settled on his fathers farm in Little Grant Township and farmed there for 44 years. She belonged to the Stitch & Chat Sewing Club in Little Grant for over 40 years. After her husbands death, Gen moved to Lancaster. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the CCW. Gen enjoyed her card group, senior citizens pot lucks, and playing bingo and cards. She was also a wonderful baker and homemaker.

She is survived by three children: Beverly Fishnick, Donald (Sherry) Losch, and Rosemary (Mark) Wolf, all of Lancaster; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren; and two sisters: Frances Reuter, Platteville; and Helen Cooley, Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorman, on April 15, 1978; her parents; and her brothers, Clarence, Raymond, Guerdon, and Donald Sherwin.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Visitation was held on Monday, March 3, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
