Gary Lee Stagman, age 57, of Lancaster, died on Saturday, September 26, 2009, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. He was born on December 22, 1951 in Prairie du Chien, the son of Charles and Helen (Bean) Stagman. He graduated from West Grant High School in 1970. He furthered his education at UW-LaCrosse, graduating in 1974 with a degree in Business Administration. He was employed as a banker in West Bend, LaCrosse and Madison, WI. Gary was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He liked to watch the Badgers and Packers and was involved with dirt track racing. Gary was also a goodwill ambassador for Lancaster Speedway. Anyone who knew Gary knew he was generous beyond his own needs. He would always deliver treats to people who have touched his life; most recently those at Orchard Manor and Grant Regional Health Center.
Survivors include his parents, Charles and Helen Stagman, Bagley; his brother, Gregory (Tami) Stagman, Lancaster; his sister, Gale (Sparky) Gardner; Pequot Lake, MN; nieces and nephews: Zachary (Laura) Stagman, Lacey (Casey) Newman, Matthew Stagman, Kyle Johnston, Katrina Johnston, Tyler Gardner and Cody Gardner; other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration of Life Service was held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2009, at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster, where snacks and refreshments will be served.
