Frank Minno Menne, age 79, of Platteville, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015, at St. Marys Hospital in Madison.
Frank was born on February 5, 1935 in Potosi Township, WI, the son of Edward & Florence (Fecht) Menne. He graduated from St. Andrew High School in 1953. Frank married Mary Jayne Bierman on April 10, 1956 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson. They farmed from 1956 to 1979 in Potosi; then owned and operated the Roadhouse in Tennyson from 1979 to 2000. Frank retired after many years from Lands End.
Minno always started his day making coffee for his doll. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and the Cubs. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Frank was a longtime board member of the Cenex Co-op in Lancaster.
Frank is survived by his wife, Jayne; five children, Janice (Dan) Kittoe, Anchorage, AK, Jeanine (Tom) Robbins, Potosi, Cindy (Rich) Koeller, Marshall, WI, Kris (Pat) Doyle, Hazel Green, Ted (Sandy) Menne, Muscoda; grandchildren, Kari Kittoe, Robynn (John) Richards, Rachel (Ross) Harrison, T.J. (Fianc Marissa Stewart) Robbins, Crystin Robbins, Dan Koeller, Alex Koeller, Katie Doyle, Evan Doyle, Ross Doyle, Will Doyle, Kyle Menne & Kassee (Damian) Janisch; great-grandchildren, Ella & Cora Richards, Xzavier Janisch and baby Kittoe-Harrison due on January 17; a brother, Cyril Menne, Potosi; sisters, Mary Zenz, Bloomington, and Ann (Phil) Leek, Homosassa, FL; brother-in-law, Nick (Marlene) Bierman, Stoughton; sister-in-law, Doris (Bob) Doerring, Lancaster, Madonna Ashbrook, Schaumburg, IL, and Sharon Bierman, Potosi; and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Ollie & Ruth Bierman, Pearl Menne, Jerry Zenz, Sam & Janice Bierman, and Dewayne Bierman.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson, with Fr. Richard Leffler officiating. Private family burial will take place at a later date in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends caledl from 4:30 p.m. until the time of mass Wednesday at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Frank Menne Memorial Fund has been established. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Platteville is assisting the family.
