Floyd L. "Frog" Wilder, Jr., age 61 of Mount Hope, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. He was born on August 24, 1954, in Flint, MI, the son of Floyd L. and Nona L. (Dunnington) Wilder, Sr. Frog worked at Crossing Rivers Health, formerly Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, for 15 years as a maintenance technician. Frog was loved by his co-workers, family and many, many friends. He will be best remembered for his eagerness to help anyone, anywhere, at any time; his playful humor, love of the outdoors and animals - wild, domestic, sauteed or fried.
Survivors include his four daughters: Brandy Schmidt, North English, IA; Ruby (John Andrews) Wilder, Prairie du Chien; Jamie Wilder, Gays Mills; Hannah (Jason) Kluedtke, Boone, IA; 10 grandchildren: Chloe, Peyton, Alana, Brandon, Trinity, Thaedyn "Buddah," Nicole, Harper, Jace, and Averi; a brother: John (Linda) Wilder, Stoughton; a niece, Ashlee and a nephew, Justin; two honorary children: Tory and Colby.
In addition to his parents, Frog was preceded in death by a brother James in infancy and his beloved dog, Molly.
A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster. Private family burial was in the Beetown Cemetery, Beetown. Family and friends were welcome for visitation on Friday, October 23, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be given in Frog's name for Metastatic Cancer Research.
