Evelyn Mae Fuerstenberg, age 85, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on August 21, 1929, in Wauwatosa, the daughter of Ernest J. and Jeanette M. (Ellis) Brindley. On December 28, 1948, Evelyn was united in marriage to Lawrence Fuerstenberg in Fennimore. After their marriage, Evelyn raised their family. She enjoyed knitting, baking, and square dancing. She dearly loved babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time with her family. Evelyn was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters.
Survivors include her children: Mary Lou (Dick) Zielinski; Michael (Aidee) Fuerstenberg; Betty (Keith) Edge; Larry (Phyllis) Fuerstenberg; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; her siblings: Darrell (Mary Ann) Brindley; Donald (Shirley) Brindley; Ernie (Charlotte) Brindley; Karen (Dick) Rothwell; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by a son, David; her husband, Lawrence; and brothers, Robert and William (Pat) Brindley.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Reverend John Sasse officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fennimore. Family and friends called on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at the church, where a 10:15 a.m. rosary was held. Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is assisting the family.
