Eric P. Yager, age 39, of Cassville, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on June 23, 1976, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Larry Yager and Christine Russell. Eric attended Cassville High School and Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore where he earned a CNC certificate. He worked various jobs throughout his life. Eric enjoyed 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing, farming, and logging. He had a passion for Chevy Vega cars and dearly loved spending time with his family, especially his sons.
Eric will be missed by his fianc, Kortney Hellum; his sons: Hunter, William and Brody Yager; his mother, Christine (Ken Nehls) Russell; his father, Larry (Nancy Klossing) Yager; his brother, Jeremy (Lynn) Yager and goddaughter, Ayva; his best friends and cousins, Derick (Kathy) Pohle; Shawn (Lori) Mumm, who is also Brody's godfather; Kortney's parents: Deanne (Ron) Schmidt and Roger (Karen) Hellum; Hunter and William's half-sister, Brittany Wiederholt; other relatives and friends.
Eric was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Lloyd and Stella Yager; maternal grandparents: Charles and Jackie Russell; his uncles: Bill Russell and Dave Yager; and his aunt, Helen Mumm.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cassville with Pastor David Froemming officiating. Burial was in Burton Cemetery, Burton. Family and friends called on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, an Eric P. Yager Memorial Fund has been established.
