Emily Gertrude. Werner, age 92, of Lancaster, WI, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012, at Orchard Manor in Lancaster after a brief battle with cancer. Emily was born in South Lancaster Township on November 3, 1919, the daughter of Anton and Josephine (Fine) Udelhoven. She married Fay Werner on September 7, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa. Together they farmed near Lancaster. She enjoyed traveling with Fay throughout the United States and abroad. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, 4-H leader for 25 years, and volunteered at the Thrift Shop for 14 years. Emily will be greatly missed by her family that she loved so much and her friends who brought great joy into her life.

Emily is survived by her children, Donovan (Carla) Werner of Vallejo, CA, Dwaine (Debbra) Werner of Sun Prairie, WI, and Sharon (Daniel) Graney of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Laura Swecker, Robert Werner, Paula Werner, Derek Werner, and Donielle Werner; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fay in 2007; a son, Dennis; sisters, Pat Hartman and Bessie Udelhoven; brothers, Ray, Andy, and Robert Udelhoven.

Emily had requested that there be no visitation. A private family funeral was held at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Schwartz Funeral Home is assisting the family.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Robert Stader and the nurses at Grant Regional Health Center, Grant County Hospice, and Orchard Manor for their loving care during this difficult time.
