CASSVILLE – Elizabeth A. "Betty" Breuer, age 91, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster, WI. She was born on November 24, 1926, the third child of John and Gertrude (Hochhausen) Ploessl. She lived her entire life in the Cassville area. She attended a one room school house for her education. On June 12, 1945, she married Francis Breuer. They farmed together outside of Cassville, where they raised their seven children. After moving into Cassville in 1982, Betty worked for several area businesses. She was a long-time member of St. Charles Catholic parish where she volunteered in many capacities. Betty also volunteered with community organizations such as Meals on Wheels and the Red Cross. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and working outside in her yard. Betty made the best lemon meringue pie.
She is survived by her children: Beverly (Bob) Klauer; Donna (Jim) Fascher and children: Lisa (Travis) Morarend, Bill (Ellen) and Mike (Carlie); Dick (Chris) and children: Matt (Lea), Pete (Barb) and Sam (Terah); Kathy (Jim) Gamoke and children: Adam (Beth) and Kate ( Bob) Vredeveld; Rod (Sheila) and children: Tricia (Todd) Ploessl and Erica (Joe) Schauff; Peg (Eric) Breuer Beckman and children: Maren and Ella; Dan (Karen Williams) and children: Kory and Aspyn, 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Jim) Reynolds; sister-in-law, Nancy Gabel; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, her brothers: Donald, Clifford, Melvin, James and Delano; sisters and brothers-in-law and two infant grandsons.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville, with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Settlement Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends may call on Friday, January 19, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 313 Fredrick, Cassville and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
