Eileen B. Fiedler, age 88, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. She was born on November 25, 1935, in Slough, U.D. England, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Banks) Price. Eileen attended schools in England. In 1953, Eileen and her mother came to America, and she became a United States citizen. Her husband to be, Richard Fiedler, was drafted in the United States Army, stationed in Baltimore, where he met the love of his life, Eileen. On February 19, 1955, they were united in marriage. After their marriage, the couple moved to Lancaster and raised a family. Eileen was employed at Lancaster Community Schools as a bus driver for more than 40 years. She enjoyed the interactions with the students on her route. Eileen was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and went square dancing and fishing with her husband, Richard. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, baking, and making fruit cakes. Eileen always put family first and dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors are her children: Eileen Straka, Linda (Jorge) Munevar, Nicholas (LeeAnn) Fiedler, Christopher Fiedler, Patricia (Carl, II) Winkers; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a sister, Gail Aeschlimann; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Richard, Eileen was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Brandon Winkers; a son-in-law, Roger Straka; daughter-in-law, Elise “Bunnie” Fiedler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is entrusted with her care.
