Eileen Frances (Walker) Flesch, age 86, of Platteville, died at home on Friday, May 29, 2009 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle against cancer. Eileen was born on September 17, 1922 at home in Ismay, MT to Charles and Ellen (Shea) Walker. Eileen went to Miles City High School for 3 years and then went to Lancaster, WI for her senior year and graduated in 1940. She married Laverne

Flesch on October 28, 1941 in Lancaster, WI. He preceded her in death on February 29, 2008.
She was a homemaker and mother to 9 children. She loved to crochet , make quilts, and play card games, especially Euchre. She was also a Brewer and Packer fan. You could always find ice cream treats in the freezer, specifically drumsticks and push-ups. She was a master of cooking squirrel and telling stories. Eileen is survived by 9 children: David (Joan) of Mansfield, PA and children Amy, Gail, and Carla; Barbara (Jim) Smith of Pima, AZ; Bruce (Carla) of Platteville, WI; Sarah (Jim) Barutha of Bozeman, MT and children Debbie, Phillip, and Kate; Bill (Chris) of East Dubuque, IL and children Melissa, Maureen, Melanie, and Ryan; Pat of Platteville, WI; Dan (Beth) of Platteville, WI and children Nate, Kurt, and Joel; Alan (Mary Wunderlin) of Platteville, WI; Barry (Diane) and children Ely and Anica. She has 3 step grandchildren Rob, Roger, and Jia Smith; 7 great-grandchildren, and 3 step-great grandchildren.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Bishell of Lancaster, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Lee (Ruth) Walker and brother-in-law Burnell Bishell.
A Mass of Christian Burial were held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at St. Mary
s Catholic Church in Platteville with Monsignor Charles Schluter officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Platteville. Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 3 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at St. Mary
s Catholic Church in Platteville with a Parish Scripture Service at 4:00 p.m. Friends were also welcome from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Southwest Health Center Hospice or Wisconsin Badger Camp in honor of Eileen Flesch. On behalf of Eileen Flesch
