Edmund Sedbrook

Edmund Sedbrook, age 85, of Stone Lake, formerly of Potosi, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Spooner Health Systems, Spooner. He was born on May 10, 1927, in Boice Creek, the son of Melvin and Dora (Udelhoven) Sedbrook. Edmund attended country school. On September 2, 1947, he was united in marriage to Avanelle M. Place in Potosi. After their marriage, the couple farmed and raised a family. Edmund farmed his family farm until 2009 when he sold the land. He enjoyed coon, deer and squirrel hunting, poaching rabbits at night, sled riding and playing baseball in the neighbors pasture. Edmund also enjoyed playing cards especially euchre and 500, dancing, and dressing up for Halloween. Edmund also had a passion for John Deere tractors.

Edmund is survived by his children: Judi (John) Meir; Sharon (Gary) Pagel; Karen (Edward) Hall; Beverly Geisler; Linda (Daniel) Wiest; Richard (Nancy) Sedbrook; Marsha (Jerry) Gerber; Joan (Paul) Krantz; Susan (Robert) Meier; Randall (Laurie) Sedbrook; thirty-two grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; his sister: Luella Polfer; his brother: Sylvester (Jeanette) Sedbrook; his brothers and sister-in-law: Donna (Bruce) Meyer; Neva Place; EldonRed (Arlene) Place; Sam Stassi; Rita Sedbrook; his dog, Bear; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Avanelle, Edmund was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Sedbrook; a grandson, Matthew Krantz; his siblings: Joseph (Marie) Sedbrook; Lavern (Clementine) Sedbrook; Donald Sedbrook; Merland Sedbrook; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Francis Polfer; WendellBuzz Place; Eunice (Virgil) Wackershauser; Audrey Stassi; and Milton (Betty) Place.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 9, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster with Reverend Mark Dieter officiating. Burial was in Boice Creek Cemetery, Potosi Township. Family and friends called on Sunday, July 8, 2012, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.
