Douglas D. Holt

Douglas D. Holt, age 37, of Platteville, formerly of Potosi, died unexpectedly Friday, July 25, 2008 at his home. He was born on August 20, 1970 in Lancaster, the son of Donald and Ella (Helbing) Holt. Doug graduated from Lancaster High School in 1987.

Doug liked mechanics, motorcycles, playing cards, throwing the frisbee, telling jokes and spending time with family and friends.

Doug is survived by his mother, Ella Kittoe, Potosi; two brothers and two sisters: Larry Holt, Potosi, Pam Arnold, Potosi, Donell Hefel, Dubuque, IA and Kevin Holt, Belmont; many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald; his brother, Dennis; his step-father, Bob Kittoe; brother-in-law, Kelly Arnold and his grandparents.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 28, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson with Father Bernard Rott officiating. Burial was held at a later date in St. Andrew Cemetery, Tennyson. Family and friends were welcomed on Sunday, July 27, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home in Potosi and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
