Dorothy F. Allbee, age 96, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. She was born on July 28, 1919, in Beetown the daughter of Dustin and Ocea (Laufenberg) Potter. Dorothy attended Beetown rural school. On November 22, 1937 she was united into marriage to Frank M. Allbee. Together they farmed in Waterloo Township. She was also employed for over thirty years at Rapid Die and Molding in Cassville. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, gardening and cooking.
Surviving is her son Roger (Betty) Allbee, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, her special companion Joe Berntgen, and a sister Opal (Harley) Laugesen Turner.
She was preceded in death by a son Robert (Diane) Allbee, a granddaughter Joan Anderson, her siblings, Marilyn (Richard) Irish, La Verne (Ann) Potter, Hazel (Bernie) Louthain Levins, Lulu (Myron) Pritchett, Glenice (Tom) Allbee, Cecil (Marie) and Clyde Potter.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in the Hurricane Cemetery, Waterloo Township. Family and friends called on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. The Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is assisting the family.
