Donna Scullion, age 78, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at her home in Platteville after a long, courageous battle with Parkinsons disease. She was surrounded by her family and devoted caregivers.
She was born on December 21, 1933, in Highland, WI, a daughter of Eugene and Gertrude (Beckius) Scullion.
Donna graduated from Highland High School in 1951, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a degree in History in 1955, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a MS in Library Science. Her professional career included teaching at Cassville High School, and a long tenure as librarian at York Community High School in Elmhurst, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Jean Scullion Muldowney; and brothers-in-law, Tom Muldowney and Thomas Chambers.
Donna is survived by two sisters, Carole Scullion Chambers of Hyde Park, NY and Sally Scullion (Stephen) Kulasa of Greenfield, WI; nieces and nephews, Tim Muldowney, Susan Muldowney Olson, Joann Muldowney Lindholm, Madison; Kathleen Chambers Flaherty Natick, Ma; Matthew Kulasa, Manchester, England ;Zachary Kulasa Carol Stream, Il and her life-long friend, L. James Leitl of Platteville.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 am on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at SS Anthony & Philip Catholic Church, Highland, WI, with Father Kenneth J. Frisch celebrating the mass. Burial was in St. Anthony Cemetery, Highland. Visitation was from 9 am to 11 am Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the church.
