Dolores I. Reed

Dolores I. Reed, age 88, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. She was born on November 2, 1930, in Lancaster, the daughter of Harley F. and Esther M. (Brandemuehl) Foster. Dolores graduated from Lancaster High School. On November 15, 1948, she was united in marriage to Orville Pierce at the Lancaster United Methodist Parsonage. Two sons were born to this union: Donald and Daniel Pierce. After their marriage, the couple farmed together until Orville's death in 1978. Dolores was united in marriage to Wayne Reed; he also preceded her in death. She was a kind and generous person who enjoyed the simple life. Dolores also enjoyed embroidery work and coloring.
Survivors include her son, Donald Pierce; nieces and nephews: Phyllis (Larry) Fuerstenberg; Brenda (Mark) Cullen; Cindy (Tom) Simpson; Robert (Darlene) Foster; Timothy Foster; great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, Dolores was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Pierce; a sister, Patricia (Dr. Clifford) Smith; and a brother, Jack (Beverly) Foster.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
