Dolores I. Laufenberg, age 94, of rural Beetown, died on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at her home.
She was born on October 29, 1917, of Potosi Township, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Miller) Pitzen. On March 27, 1940, Dolores married Marcus Laufenberg in Dubuque, IA. Dolores and Marcus recently celebrated their 72nd Wedding Anniversary.
Dolores enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, and baking cookies for her grandchildren prior to her illness.
Surviving are her husband, Marcus; four children: Anita Berg, Anoka, MN; Richard (Karen) Laufenberg, Windsor; Dennis (Judy) Laufenberg, Cassville; Nancy (Michael) Vogt, Wesley Chapel, FL; eight grandchildren: Steve (Kim) Berg, Bryan (Krisi) Berg, Marty (Amy) Laufenberg, Lisa (John) Scullion, Michael Laufenberg, David (Kristi) Laufenberg, Matthew (Ashley) Laufenberg, James (Dione) Laufenberg; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lucille Edge, Superior; Dorothy Burggraf, Cave Creek, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers: Leo, Fritz, Ed, Donald and Harold Pitzen, five sisters: Mildred Reuter, Esther Adams, Isabelle Kreiser, Gladys Pitzen and Florence Leibfried.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Cassville with Reverend Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial was in Beetown Cemetery, Beetown Township. Family and friends called on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
